With grain magazine we are all very clear from the start what kind of magazine we wanted o be and the messages we aimed to convey. This idea of being conscious, considered and contemporary, with a minimalist aesthetic to convey this holistic lifestyle of sustainability.
When approaching this as the photographer i noted that from the imagery that was proposed i wanted us to not be like what is being done already, I want the imagery to still be strong even if we wanted more muted colour palettes and laid back aesthetic. For me I wanted it to be interesting to look at and not just pretty people, wearing nice things in good locations
I believe I am pretty comfortable with the photographer role however there is a lot I don’t know about such as editing and studio lights
