Students from across the Built Environment and Civil Engineering division were given the opportunity to visit the ongoing works at Brighton Marina, undertaken by Midguard. Around 50 students braved the horrendous weather to learn more about the project and the ongoing development. The project consists of a large cofferdam construction, with 3 levels of basement and a 9 storey retail/leisure and residential building. This is the first phase of three in the Brighton Marina development, with the next starting early 2016 consisting of a 40 storey residential development. Students will visit throughout the works to see the different processes and hear about the challenges of working in the marina environment.
