Our donor research team is growing and we would like to warmly welcome Charlotte Humphris. Charlotte has recently joined the University of Brighton as a lecturer for the School of Sport and Health Sciences and we are delighted she is able to bring her wealth of knowledge and exprience of organ donation and transplantation from her NHS practice. As a team we want to explore all the mechanisms that underpin this complex pathway from organ donation to transplantation and this includes health care professional education.
Survey research found that “educational programmes covering donation issues should enhance nurses knowledge and confidence in the organ donation process and ultimately increase the number of potential donors.”
