For four days in late June, doctoral students and colleagues from across the university came together in celebration of research at our annual Postgraduate Research Student Conference. Now in its fifth year, this multi-disciplinary event showcases the quality of work being conducted by our PGR students and offers an exciting opportunity for delegates to share, learn, develop skills, and to enjoy building and being part of a vibrant research community.
With well over a hundred student presentations, daily keynotes, a masterclass by Professor Etienne Wenger-Trayner, and a research poster competition, it’s safe to say this was our biggest and broadest student conference to date. Given all the positive feedback we’ve since received, not to mention the clear appetite for more, this is an annual fixture that looks set to keep on growing.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the event’s success, from attendees to presenters to the tireless team of organisers. If you missed out on the conference, or want to relive some of the highlights, please check out our Storify, a narrative of tweets, chat and photos from across the four days.
We also have two videos of our keynote presentations available to view:
Prof Etienne Wenger-Trayner: Research and Social Learning Theory
Prof Kathleen Galvin: In the Middle of Everywhere
