I’m Dan Levy, an EFL teacher with three years’ experience, which includes working between three different schools in the UK, one school in Poland and working 1 to 1 online using Skype.
I’m doing this course for a number of reasons but mainly because I love doing it and want to have the capability of doing it on a full time, more permanent basis. Naturally, of course, I know this will bring me, and my family more financial stability and security, which is vital to me since it affects the welfare of my own kids as well as me. Other reasons include getting an enhanced reputation, developing a more informed approach to teaching and gaining an improved awareness of the language itself.
After completing the course, I hope to carry on in the capacity of a senior teacher but may also look into fulfilling the role of ASDOS or DOS, although these roles, at this moment in time, don’t appeal to me as much as the senior teacher does. I’m also considering opening my own school somewhere in Poland where my wife’s from, just something small to start with and then gradually building it up to something more substantial. At the moment, I’m in the process of creating my own website, which could act as a base to promote myself as an online teacher. This could potentially expand into an ‘online school’, which could help facilitate other teachers wanting to teach online. They could each have their own account where they can see their own weekly schedule of students and organise their pay through a convenient wage system. This is very much at the experimental stage though.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading my blog and please feel free to leave any comments regarding any of the content.
