Lesson plans, teaching guides, activity sheets, costume ideas, quizzes, audio extracts, videos… Teachers have a plethora of World Book Day resources to choose from. So, will you being doing something special for World Book Day 2018?
Here are my top 5 activities for World Book Day this year:

- The SHARE A STORY campaign – spend time reading and sharing stories with children and share your experience on social media using the hashtag #ShareAStory.
- Find out the results of the “Top 100 Stories to Share” vote.
- Tune in to the “Giant Bedtime Story” via Facebook Live at 7pm for the re-telling of James and the Giant Peach.
- “The Biggest Book Show on Earth Online” – watch one of the 30 minute shows of authors/illustrators reading a story online with your students. You will need to have signed up for a specific show beforehand. Take a look at the website for more details.
- Blue Peter Book Award – find out who has won! This will be announced live on Blue Peter on World Book Day. (Twitter hashtag #BPBA) Here are the finalists:
