When we talk about China and the Chinese culture, tea ceremony is something that we cannot forget. The art of drinking and serving tea plays a major cultural role in China and the tea ceremony is considered as a very important event. The qualities of tea inspired lot of scholars and artists to do wonderful creations of art and poetry related to this ceremony.
There are different kinds of teahouses in China, in both city and countryside. These are places where people gather to enjoy their tea with other friends and loved ones, while they discuss about various things associated with their lives. Sometimes it becomes a place where you forget the old conflicts with your neighbors and make peace.
The appearance of tea can be dated to thousands years back. The Chinese ancient legends record it is Shengnongshi (god of agriculture) who found the tea. He is one of prehistoric representatives and ancestors of Chinese.
He tasted hundreds of herb and was hit by72 poisons. One day, he found tea that has the special function of neutralizing all poisons. Since then, till 300B.C. tea was used only as a medicine.
