Course overview
This part-time course is for healthcare professionals who do not yet have a BSc degree and would like to take Level 6 clinical modules focused on their chosen speciality. The course provides an opportunity to ‘top-up’ a previously completed Level 5 diploma or foundation degree to achieve a BSc (Hons) award.
Entry requirements
Applicants to the course are normally expected to:
- Have the equivalent of a health or social care related qualification to a minimum of 120 level 5 credits
- Have a minimum of one year of post-qualified experience
- Hold current registration with a Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body
- Be employed in the UK and working a minimum of 2 days per week in a relevant clinical practice area (but module-specific rules apply) supported by a designated clinical practitioner providing mentorship
Course structure
The BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice course requires a total of 120 credits at Level 6. A minimum of 60 credits of clinical modules will be taken within a Clinical Pathway, followed by another 60 credits of modules making up the honours route.

- NA6133 Evidence-Based Practice module – 20 credits
- NA6169 Quality Improvement Proposal module – 40 credits
There is a non-honours BSc degree early exit option after completing the 60 credit Clinical Pathway.
