This module is for the honours route of the BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice and BSc (Hons) Professional Practice degree courses.  The module can also be taken for study skills development to access other courses or as a single module.

Planning a literature search strategy – questions, key terms, databases and selection methods

Conducting a literature search and reporting findings

Quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research

Data collection and data analysis tools and techniques

Quality and rigour in different types of evidence: Reliability, validity and trustworthiness

Quality improvement, audit and service evaluation

Grey literature

Critical appraisal of evidence using a structured framework

Critical application of evidence for best practice
