I think Inclusive Arts is…
“Making art together, in collaboration with each other”.
“Collaborative creativity”.
What is Inclusive Arts Practice?
- Collaborations with marginalised and non-marginalised artists
- Process as a two-way exchange
- Placing the non marginalised artist in the role of collaborator
Say NO to the word INCLUSION – as gets rid of the hierarchy and labels- offers a more fluid ‘structure’.
Inclusive art is related to, but it is NOT:
- Outsider art
- Socially engaged practice
- Disability art
- Art therapy
Contexts within which participatory arts takes place:
- Galleries
- Theatres
- Community Centres
- Museums
