Nicolas Ghesquiere created an exhibition called series 3; series 3 is a collection for Louis Vuitton’s autumn-winter 2015/2016 products. This series exhibition showcases Ghesquiere expressing his creative conscious and inspirations. Series 3 is more than a new collection of clothing but it is a journey into another artisan’s heart, soul and an adventure into the depth inspiration of Louis Vuitton. As a Brighton University student I had the privilege of attending the ‘Series 3’ exhibition, at the entrance of the exhibition was a Louis Vuitton abbreviation ‘LV’ coloured in red. I felt the excitement of finally witnessing a brand as big as Louis Vuitton’s factory of dreams. Through the exhibition I discovered many secrets and creative aspects of Louis Vuitton’s production. There were many different rooms I found knowledgeable information in; I was enthused by ‘The Science of Savoir-Faire’ and the ‘Wardrobe Sensation’. ‘The Science of Savoir-Faire’ was a pitch black room with a thin glooming laser where I figured out through demonstration how Louis Vuitton piece products together such as shoes and LV’s classic handbags. When I reached the ‘Wardrobe Sensation’ gallery I was stunned by the thrilling end product of items after they have travelled through the creative process. It was only a dream which I could wear this beautiful hand bag I fell into lust with. At the ‘Tale of Craftsmanship’ exhibition room, I never thought the end process would look this amazing. Workers at the exhibition used their bare hands to piece together such an outstanding gift to the fashion universe. By incorporating graffiti with Louis V products I’ve seen how it could possibly be created. I had inspiring images in my mind about designing graffiti art on the hand bag I loved so much; how the laser precisely cuts around edges like a graffiti artisan does.
