Today we had our second life drawing workshop with Phil, I feel like i have improved a lot since the last session. I was drawing from an image today and started to play around with other mediums as well such as coloured ink. Here is the drawing I did in 15 minutes.

Life Drawing Workshop with Phil
Today we had our first life drawing workshop with Phil. At the start I found it really hard to get to grips with the way of drawing that he was teaching, which was ‘draw what you see, not what you know.’ We also did some 10 second gesture drawings with ink which I enjoyed more and found a lot easier too do as I felt like there was less pressure because of the short amount of time we had. Here are some my drawings from todays workshop – an upside down drawing from a magazine, a 10 minute blind drawing and some ink gestures.
Styling Workshop – David Lynch and Raf Simons Inspired
Today we had another workshop with Stephanie John. We had to pick 2 artists/designers/producers who relate to each other and create looks inspired by that. For our shoot we decided to use Raf Simons and David Lynch as our influences as they both have similar aesthetics and male outfits. We started off in a photo studio, then went to the pier to get some cool photos that go with the look. I had a lot of fun doing this and I hope to do more men’s styling and photography in future projects.
Stephanie John workshop
On the 10th of October, we had a Burberry stylist come in and do a denim and white shirt workshop, as well as a presentation about her field of work and different jobs in industry which I found really useful. For the workshop, we were asked to do some research into denim and white shirts and also bring in a white shirt and as much denim as we could find, as well as things like scissors, belts and scarfs. Once we were in there she told us to style the denim in a different way by cutting it up, mixing it with other denim and creating a mini shoot with 6-8 final images. I was in a group with 3 other people and at first we struggled to think of ways to style it, but once we got started it all started to fall into place. I was really happy with our final images considering the short time frame and lack of materials we had to complete it and I really enjoyed the day and everything I learnt from Stephanie John.
