Rocky Horror Picture Show

I recently re-watched ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ staring Tim Curry and it gave me a lot of styling inspiration for an upcoming shoot related to club kids. I want my club kids shoot to have an element of drag in the styling and in the makeup as well, I like the use of underwear and under garments in this film and I think it will add a different element to my work by using some of these styling techniques.

Body 3

I did a second shoot experimenting with body paint and creating some interesting images.

This time I decided to paint on items of clothing instead of just playing around with the paint and texture. I wanted to expose intimate areas of the body whilst still covering and disguising them. I wanted to keep the styling simple so decided to go with denim and white trainers. Im really happy with how these images turned out.

Franz West

I visited the Tate Modern to see the Franz West exhibition. This exhibition was filled with abstract sculptures, furniture and large scale works. It was filled with eccentric and playful sculptures and pieces. Here are two of my favourite sculptures. The colours used in this exhibition appeal to me a lot and I want to take inspiration from these in my own work, using the same colour theme.

Body Painting Experiments

This shoot was inspired by Viviane Sassen. In this shoot I wanted to play around with the female form, exposing areas that are considered intimate but also disguising them at the same time. I used normal craft paints instead of body paints as the pigment was higher with these.
