I decided to portray important events from throughout her life instead of just focusing on her journey to Lhasa, as I think her background provides important context to the viewer as to why her going to Lhasa was so significant. Furthermore, I wanted to provide the viewer with a deeper insight int0 Alexandra’s character, and her independent, headstrong personality which completely contradicted society’s perception of women at the time.

I have chosen a comic format for my final product as I knew that I would need quite a few compositions to tell the story that I have chosen, and I think that working on a smaller scale will make this much easier with the time that I have left. It was essentiel for me to incorporate text into the comic in order to move the story along and make it much easier to undertsnad for the viewer, as unfortunately due to the time limit, its not realistic for me to do more frames which would expand on each stage in her life and communicate it more through purely visuals.
