I really enjoy working with collage as it makes it easy to play around with shapes, layouts, and compositions. I’m happy with these experiments as I like that with collage you can continue to build upon a piece and create more layers and depth. I chose to add in smaller details adding colour pencil and pen, as I think that within the time limit it would be very difficult to make every detail with collage.

In this experiment I recreated the boat from my gouache painting, and layered it ontop of the original painting, as I wanted to see how well collage would work with gouache. I like the added dimension that collage creates, and I like the use of it in the foreground to highlight the central focus of the piece.
