6-month Volunteering Placement opportunities with Sussex Police
Sussex Police are piloting exclusively with the University of Brighton a student volunteering placement scheme. The volunteering placements, taking place over 6 months for second year students starting in the autumn 2024 with a commitment required of 4-6 hours a week, are in situ. The roles are project led, giving real life industry experience in various areas of the force.
The pilot year is being offered to students who will be going into their second year of study in Autumn 2024, studying law or social sciences only.
At the end of the 6-month placement students will be invited to attend a celebration ceremony where they will be presented with a certificate from the Chief Constable.

There is a support package on offer for students wishing to apply, including a webinar with Sussex Police to learn more and an application writing workshop. There are various roles available across the county and within Brighton and Hove. Recruitment begins imminently, with successful candidates needing to complete police vetting before they can begin.
