Brand new student?
The Freshers Fairs next week (29th Eastbourne, 30th Hastings and 1st Brighton) are a great opportunity for you to find out what is on offer so you can make the most of your new adventure. From groups like the Bike Coop to your course’s academic society, there is something for everyone to have fun, add skills and experience to your CV! Yes, your CV, it’s never too early to think about your career. Your future career starts now, with the choices you make, the skills you develop and the experience you’ll gain. Employers are always looking for students who can show initiative, have good social and organisational skills, which you will develop by juggling coursework with extracurricular activities.
So if you don’t have a plan and need some support or already have a plan but need some guidance, come and visit the Careers Service and find out how we can help you.
Returning to second or final year?
So, you’re back after the long summer break! Now’s a really great time to be thinking about your career. Do you know what you want to do when you graduate? If not, you could consider booking an appointment with one of our careers advisers to discuss your options. We also have our massive Careers Fair on 4th November, where you can meet with over 150 employers! So do remember to pop that in your diary and read all about how to impress.
What’s Momentum?
Momentum is a mentoring scheme created by the Careers Service. Students are paired with mentors to exchange knowledge with a view to improving their confidence and employability, and to enhance their prospects of career success. Click here for more information and eligibility criteria.
