I wanted to include an article about the eco-crisis and how it is affecting mental health amongst young people to go alongside a narrative photoshoot and decided it would be really useful to have a photographer help me. I got in contact with Ed Humphris who wanted to build on his creative portfolio and wrote a brief for him about my vision for the shoot. I included 4 mood boards (2 included below) and written instructions to ensure my art direction was clear.

I attended the shoot to help with styling, setting and art direction. I am really happy with how the images turned out although it was difficult not being in control. The weather also proved difficult as it was a lot colder than I had hoped for, but between Ed & I we were able to edit the images to appear warm and sunny which I feel was essential to the narrative story.
Below is one of my favourite images and the opening double-page spread to the feature.
For the written content I have included a short story which is cohesive with the visuals, as well as provided information for ways to become more eco-friendly and how to manage mental health throughout the eco-crisis.
I feel that it has been a really successful collaboration and happy to feature another creative’s photography.
