Throughout Easter, I have completed numerous photoshoots and interviews with more people for my main feature Skin Stories. By asking each model 5 questions, I have included details of their story told on their skin. Below are the images I took of Ed Humphris, the photographer for my Solastalgia feature, as he has a collection of bold tattoos.
I am really happy with how these images turned out and feel that it has been useful including Ed due to his tattoos being in a unique style, and at only 18, he has quickly made these stylistic decisions.
I also completed the same process with Jessamin, who has an incredibly meaningful tattoo which she got for her childhood dog.
I felt that her interview went really well and she gave really insightful answers but I struggled to take numerous images of her tattoo due to her only having one and not wanting her face in the images, so I took the image of the flowers above as I felt that they suited the visual aesthetic and aided the story of her tattoo.
Finally, I completed a photoshoot and interview with Jessica, who has a number of tattoos. My favourite of her tattoos is the one of the smiley face symbols which is a written language created by the band Radiohead, as I feel this holds a lot of meaning.
Overall I feel really please with how many models I have been able to source as well as the variety of tattoo styles and stories. I only have one person left who I need to do a photoshoot with and interview and then I will be able to put the full piece together
