Artist Roni Horn often uses the same model and displays them in a way that is very repetitive. What I like about her work is how they are very consistent and similar but if you look closely you begin to notice changes in mood and emotions of the model, although they may be subtle and not noticed at first glance. What stands out to me in these images are the models facial expressions. This is because the model often appears very still and somber but I find myself imagining what the model may be feeling, or thinking, or questioning if she has even moved at all, or if the image has been repeated twice. The images are very close up head shots and include little colour apart from the models hair colour, skin tone or the background. What leads your eye around the images are the models features and expressions as they change. I think the meaning behind the work is indentity and emotion. Although the images are very mysterious, the close up head shots are very intimate and personal. I think it is interesting how similar all the images look and how it makes you focus on the models face more than you would if there was just one photo or not as close up. I like how it almost resembles film stills and as if the model was on video and has been stopped at different times,seconds apart.
