Shoot 3 | Location | Introducing Macro Trends

Once I had chosen my two macro trends of Black Lives Matter and Female Empowerment I produced my first attempt of a possible look book shoot. I styled my models in sports wear to link to the clothing I wanted my sub brand to be based on. When styling the models I aimed to give them a mixture of an urban and athletic look taking inspiration from Gosha Rubchinskiy. The location was a basketball and football court. I felt this was the perfect location to relate to the sports clothing. The strongest images were the portrait shots of my models however I did take a number of photographs of the clothing on its own. I photographed the models in candid poses again to capture them off guard. I also asked them to interact with each other to link to the positive vibe I wanted my brand to give off.

Shoot 2 | Studio

Inspired by the brand Lazy Oaf i took some photographs of a model in a studio in Stephanie Johns work shop. Keeping the original brand aesthetic i styled my model in bright, patterned clothing and i aimed to capture her in candid, humorous moments to show the fun mood and side of the brand.

Look Book Research | Lazy Oaf

One of the brands i looked at was Lazy Oaf. Their look book caught my attention because of the colour palette and locations. I was interested in the way in didn’t only included photographs of clothing but also close ups of garment details, locations and textures from walls and buildings. The layout of their look book linked well together as they had placed contrasting images next to each other but which included similar colours or shapes.
