Katie’s work is messy and earthy.  Using heavily grogged clay rather than smooth clay, she throws her pieces on the wheel or presses the clay into plaster moulds bringing the asymmetry of the woodland into the kitchen.  Ash and semi-matt glazes adorn her bulbous creations, turning them into alternative cookware.
