We would like to invite you to our Brighton Fringe Theatre & Forum Event, “Theatre for All & Marginalised Artists” on Sunday, 5th May 2024, at 6.30 pm at the Old Net Loft (Kings Road Arches, Brighton, BN1 1NB). The scope of this event is to raise awareness on the phenomenon of artistic marginalisation in performance arts, and the development of a new local network and community strategy to support the wellbeing and artistic work of locally marginalised artists based on race, ethnicity, immigration status, age, gender, and disability.

The event is organised by the Centre of Arts and Wellbeing (CAW) of the University of Brighton, in collaboration with triada theatre company, the international arts and cultural heritage charity Euro-Mediterranean Resources Network (EuroMernet), and the Brighton branch of production company Sweet Venues.

The event will be:

-A 90 min. stage performance of the established play “Circle Mirror Transformation” by Annie Baker, a social drama on the power of community theatre on people’s lives, followed by

-A 60 min forum event with the local stakeholders, artists, performance arts production companies and charities to discuss the development of a local network and community strategy on the support of marginalised artists in Brighton and Hove, and to provide a safe space for artistic experimentation and creation of new work.
