On Thursday April 2, 2020 on BBC Radio 4 Today’s programme, Sophie Raworth read Michael Rosen’s poem ‘These are the Hands’ written for NHS 60th anniversary https://www.scottishpoetrylibrary.org.uk/poem/these-are-hands/

It’s a poignant poem about the tactility of hands and how they are used in the NHS. Hands are used in making, as written about in ‘The Hand’ by Frank R. Wilson

We are all in self-isolation globally due to Covid-19 – these are unusual conditions for us to save lives. Please send us your creative response in made outputs, we can have a discussion for making self-isolation in Covid19 and have an online and offline show in time. Send us your ideas up to A4 only by Friday 12 June, no bigger so we can make something larger from all the outputs. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to return your samples/stitchings, as we want to incorporate them into larger works. However, we would like to give you a credit, so please send us your name with your work together with your email address.
