One Brighton Staff Awards
The One Brighton Staff Awards are open for nominations until Friday 26 April. An opportunity to recognise the contributions made by our colleagues across the University, the Research and Knowledge Exchange awards recognise individuals and teams at different stages of their careers.
The award categories for R&KE are:
R&KE Excellence Award
This award celebrates excellence in research and knowledge exchange activity and recognises the delivery of an outstanding research and/or knowledge exchange project by either an individual colleague or a research team.
R&KE Sustained Impact Award
This award celebrates the achievement of sustained impact in research and knowledge exchange activity and recognises the role of an individual or research team in putting knowledge to work in partnership with industry and/or communities over time.
Excellence in Research-Teaching Linkages Award (joint award with Education and Student Experience)
This award celebrates excellence in research-teaching linkages, a key priority in the University’s Global Challenges agenda. The award recognises the development of novel and creative ways in which research is embedded in pedagogical practice, with a focus on enhancing the student experience through the embedding of research practices in the curriculum. Examples might include the empowerment of students to play an active role in research activity as part of their education, the development of novel methods for involving students in research, a clear connection between the use of research in education and enhanced student experience.
The deadline for nominations is Friday 26 April at 6pm. Nominees will be announced in May and the winners in June.
The winners will be invited to an in-person One Brighton Awards Celebratory Event, hosted by the Vice-Chancellor. The University will also be taking the opportunity at this event to recognise and thank colleagues who have contributed to the University through dedicated long service of 25, 30 and 35 years.

Neurodivergent Researchers Survey
The Research and Knowledge Exchange Department invites you to provide input for the development of workshops tailored to support neurodivergent researchers at the University of Brighton.
The link to the form is here: https://forms.office.com/e/mfbMeNR3LS
Neurodiversity encompasses a wide range of neurological differences, so your feedback will enable us to organise workshops that address the unique challenges and needs faced by neurodivergent individuals in research settings, while also promoting your professional development and success.
Your participation in this survey will shape the content and structure of these workshops to ensure they meet your needs and interests. Your responses will remain confidential and will only be used for the purpose of workshop planning and development.
