Why should we turn to drawing to benefit our health or sustain our wellbeing? Philippa Lyon and University of Brighton PhD graduate, consultant educationalist and drawing researcher Curie Scott are editing a book that aims to investigate the research evidence and open up examples of best practice to show the many contributions that drawing can make. Contributors from the UK, USA, South Africa and Australia will be showing the many roles drawing can fulfil across different disciplines and contexts.

For those interested in finding out more now, Curie Scott’s book Drawing: Arts for Health, published by Emerald (2021), offers a thorough overview, a range of activities that can be tried out and practical considerations for health professionals considering integrating drawing for the first time.
