A Masters student’s experience at FOG 2021
I am from Mongolia, my name is Delgermaa Damdinsuren and I have just graduated my masters degree at the University of Brighton in Water and Environmental Management. I wanted to express my deep gratitude to all the people who guided, supported and encouraged me through my study, specially my supervisor Dr Sarah Purnell. I was given the opportunity to attend the 2021 FOG Summit, which was funded by the Centre for Aquatic Environments.
It was an impressive experience for me to attend and to visit the Peacehaven wastewater treatment works as part of the event, especially as this was hosted in Brighton. I found out that the Peacehaven wastewater treatment works was constructed between 2009-2013 and treats 95 million litres of wastewater per day from Brighton and Hove. The state of the art technology and innovation on display was outstanding to see, including Europe’s largest green roof and I believe is a must see for everyone involved in the water industry!
