A number of projects within the AEC are seeking applicants for 3-year PhD studentships:

Modelling advanced marine engines with sustainable fuels
Project themes: Green shipping, marine engines, sustainable fuels, thermofluids modelling, chemical kinetics

Experimental development of efficient combustion systems using optical engine and sustainable fuels
Project themes: Sustainable shipping, engine testing, optical measurement, green fuel, ammonia, emission measurement

Modelling cochlea for drug delivery research
Project themes: Cochlear drug delivery, cochlear modelling

Determination of the thermal properties of soil from Cone Penetration Testing
Project themes: Soil thermal conductivity, soil thermal properties, cone penetration testing

Sustainable practice for clinical application
Project themes: Materials science, waste capture, waste re-assignment, recycling/recylate, climate and environment impacts, mathematical modelling of clinical practice and materials characteristics, sustainability

The application deadline for all projects is 29 February 2024.
The studentships will start in October 2024.
