ITV news visited the university as part of a feature on encouraging more female representation in sport.

They visited our newsroom and interviewed three of our female Sports Journalism BA(Hons) students.

The student interviews aired on Meridian News ahead of England’s Lionesses taking on Germany at Wembley.

The item featured former professional footballer and ITV pundit, Karen Carney who was at the game to launch a new initiative with Google which is setting up an academy to train more women to have skills for the industry.
