Please tell us a bit about your work and your influences
My artistic journey is a colourful tapestry woven from my upbringing across Australia, the UK, and South Africa, where nature’s beauty deeply shaped my perspective. Through figurative, landscape, and seascape paintings, I strive to capture scenes and the essence of spontaneity balanced with meticulous detail.
Can you tell us a bit about what brought you to do a postgraduate degree and this course in particular?
I pursued a postgraduate degree to elevate my artistry to new heights. This course stood out for its focus on large-scale paintings and sculptures, offering unique techniques that have refined my style and expanded my creative boundaries.
What was your favourite part of your studies and how it helped your development and your practice?

Were there any staff who particularly inspired you?
I’ve been fortunate to have mentors who encouraged me to take artistic risks and celebrated my perspective as a Deaf artist. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in shaping my artistic voice.
What does Brighton mean to you now?
Brighton has become more than a city; it’s a vibrant muse that has nurtured my artistic growth. Its rich creativity and inclusive spirit infuse every brushstroke of my work and continue to inspire me daily.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I’m eager to share my art through exhibitions and collaborative projects that challenge conventional norms and celebrate diverse perspectives. I see each new endeavour as an opportunity to push boundaries and foster meaningful dialogue through art.
