Isabel Rock, who studied Fine Art Printmaking at the University of Brighton received the biennial award as part of the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2023.
Out of a pool of 3,000 submissions from 40 countries, Isabel Rock received the prestigious Evelyn Williams Drawing Award, worth £10,000 and a solo exhibition at Hastings Contemporary.
Isabel Rock (b.1981 Hammersmith, London, UK) studied a Fine Art Printmaking BA(Hons) from 2001 to 2004. Her recent drawings have a strong narrative looking at systems of commerce, power structures, the complexities of desire, objects of value, the fallibility of human nature and the enterprising charm of human endeavour.
