Harry chronicles influences on his work including a term spent on exchange in Japan.
As part of the University of Brighton exchange programme Harry spent a term in Japan at the University of Arts in Nagoya. He says that the experience was: “crucial to forming a multidisciplinary practice, venturing into the world of moving image among other things like ceramics, printmaking and calligraphy”.
“While my practice has since narrowed down slightly to graphic design, illustration and animation, the ways of thinking I learned in Japan have stuck with me. It was a truly special experience.”
Students on our art and design courses benefit from strong links with local arts communities and international universities in Japan, Canada and the USA, including exchange programme opportunities.
