Fine Art students present Conjecture, a collaborative exhibition of a collection of eclectic works investigating diverse themes. Runs at the Grand Parade gallery 3 – 14 February.Works within the exhibition investigate diverse themes including exploring the human condition, ecology, representations of emotional states and the relationship between the historical and dialectical.
Painting students explore the medium in a variety of ways, using traditional oil and acrylic paint, sheep wool sewn into crate structures and recyclable materials within painted surfaces. Paint coagulated with Polyfilla and the use of hanging devices that shift the relationship between viewer and object are also explored.
Sculpture students investigate ideas and space through wood and metal compositions but also employ diverse materials within space including coloured liquids contained in plastic surfaces and collections of text spilling out of sewn carpet. Live plants within contained environments and concrete casts are also used as materials to investigate ideas.
