Oriele Steiner, who graduated in 2015, has been given a year-long free studio by Bloomberg New Contemporaries at The Royal Standard, Liverpool, where she will continue developing her painting and drawing practice. Since her Fine Art Painting BA(Hons), Oriele has had exhibitions at galleries in London and Liverpool, including at the ICA, and was selected as a Bloomberg New Contemporary 2016. Her work is concerned with being human, and humankind’s ability to feel love, pain, anxiety and suffering. Among her inspirations are Impressionist still-life paintings and the ‘naïve’ art of Brazil.
