Education courses rise to 2nd in the Guardian University Guide
The Guardian University Guide 2025 was published over the weekend and the University of Brighton has risen to 2nd in the UK for education courses – a climb of four places!
Plus, we were the only institution to receive a value added scored of 10 in the subject area. The value added score compares students’ degree results with their entry requirements, to show how effectively they are taught – it is scored out of 10.
We couldn’t be prouder of our achievements for education studies and teaching courses:
- We were rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for primary and secondary initial teacher education in our 2024 inspection, and ‘good’ for early years and further education.
- Top 20 in the UK for education graduate prospects – Complete University Guide 2025.
- UK top 15% for graduate earnings in education and teaching, three years after graduating – Longitudinal Education Outcomes 2022.
- In education, 100% of our research impact is assessed as outstanding or very considerable in terms of its reach and significance in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework.
