“I’ve made some excellent friendships at Brighton, within my module groups and the wider University, that I’m sure will last for many years to come.”
Hi Alexei
Can you tell us a little bit about the Philosophy, Politics and Ethics degree at Brighton?
“It is undoubtedly one of the best things I have completed in my life. The combination of wide-ranging and tightly focused modules let me study and really understand topics and thinkers that interest me, while introducing me to others that I never knew I’d find fascinating – I picked my dissertation topic from a single week’s teaching and love it enough to pursue it at Masters level!”
How do students learn on the course?
“Small and continually assessed seminars mean that everyone is encouraged to speak, naturally growing in confidence, communication skills, and the ability to think on their feet.
“Public speaking used to terrify me! Lecturers and administrators are wonderfully supportive, going above and beyond to make sure that each student is able to achieve their best, from checking in after lectures, to giving extensive pre- and post-essay tutorials.”
How was the community at Brighton?
“I’ve made some excellent friendships at Brighton, within my module groups and the wider University, that I’m sure will last for many years to come.”
