“We are delighted to be expecting 120+ delegates from 20+ countries. Given our city’s renown as a ‘queer capital’, as well as the School’s and University’s commitment and excellence in intersectional gender and sexuality studies, we think there is no better place for the conference.
“Our keynote speakers include Professor William Leap (Professor Emeritus, Florida Atlantic University) whose research on language and sexuality and in queer linguistics provided a foundation and shape to our field; Dr Jenny Davis (Associate Professor, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) whose work on Indigenous language futurism and queer Indigenous studies has made significant contributions to preserving indigenous linguistic and cultural heritage; and Professor Veronika Koller (Professor, Lancaster University) whose work in discourse analysis has made extensive contributions to how we understand and live in the political and social world.”
