Screen Tiredness and Over-busy slides

Student attention declines as a result of screen tiredness. There are two causes of this:

  1. Too many slides in a presentation
  2. Too much happening on a single slide (too much text or too many images crammed in.

So, try to reduce the number of slides – in an online presentation, less is always more.

If slides are essential spread the text onto more than one slide and make the lettering bigger. A general principle is no more than six lines of text per slide and no more than 2 images. When text or images are too small small, people tend to squint, lean into abright screen, or simply zone out.
