For the research of this project, I have looked at a short film series called Stranded in Canton by William Eggleston. In this, Eggleston captures raw footage in the life and social occasions of residents of Canton. The series consists of fourteen short and intimate films. Each of the productions captures the spontaneity of the moment with intimate and close up black and white visuals.

In this series Eggleston contrasts his usual approach to photography which is rich in colour and composition whereas the films portray an unstable, unfocused and imperfect visuals. The films all capture the dreamy and oblivious perception of life as seen by the residents of Canton. The life of small town folk, captured in a series of short films.7
