PGCert in Medical Education
Take your knowledge and skills in teaching to the next level through the Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. Run by experienced medical educators in the Department of Medical Education, it is a year-long course delivered over three modules through face-to-face teaching and self-directed study to fit in with your other commitments. Participants gain an overview of medical education theory and practice in a supportive environment, which helps to develop confidence in teaching. The course has been designed using an interprofessional framework and participants are encouraged to share their teaching experiences and to transcend professional barriers in their learning. The key areas of study include:

- Pedagogical practice in medical education
- Advanced communication skills and strategies in medical education
- Medical education research

Physicians Associates course
BSMS now run a Physician Associates Studies course to train more people in this relatively new health profession. The course is two-year full time open to postgraduate applicants and involves intensive programme of anatomy, lectures, clinical skills, placements, and assessments.
