MOCK-UP FOR THE POP-UP CARD

I have tried to make a mock-up of the pop-up card.

Those senses are not showing the whole look of it, because it doesn’t look great.

I have found that it is really difficult to make a proper pop-up card. There were several points that I can change next time. First of all, the paper I have used for it was too thin, so that all of the layers didn’t stand firmly by themselves. Secondly, in the process of popping out and folding back, the layers started to leave the places where they should be in. I should find a way to make sure layers are fixed.

I had a tutorial with my tutor and she advised me to make a box instead of pop-up card, so that I can make it more strong, because it doesn’t have to be folded. Also, it would be nice to give the fire flame transparency, so that the audiences can see through it. I quite liked the idea of making a box. I think that can be my version of 3D artwork, which I haven’t tried before.

She also mentioned filming it. If I can use the light and the shadow properly, they may look like that of the flame.
