FMP Jungle Shoot final outcome reflections

This shoot opportunity has been really pivotal for me in my attitude to my capabilities. I was faced with problems on the actual shoot day that I found a way to get round and have still ended up with really successful outcomes.

In terms of the editing process for this shoot it has been difficult. Not the actual editing itself(ish) but more just the fact that I have taken hundreds of photos from this shoot. In total we must have changed locations around four times within the area we was in and each different locations provided me with many successful outcomes. This meant when it came to editing, I had so many to choose from and even then once I had narrowed it down to my favourites there was still lots.

As there was a few differences in location, I had to make sure there was flow to the way I edited the outcomes while altering to each location. What might of worked for one set of favourites would be different to others due to factors like lighting, background and textures within the images that differed.

I found editing this quite time consuming. I know that if I limited the amount of successful images from the shoot it would of made my life easier and taken less time but I just couldnt do that! There’s too many outcomes I was really happy with that I couldn’t wait to enhance with my editing skills.

While it did take me a while to work through all my favourite outcomes in post production, I’m honestly so proud of these outcomes. To see how this creative direction has developed from the initial shoot plan to my final outcome images proves to me that I can do this whole ‘being a creative’ thing. While I would have liked to take images that followed the original plan of using the conservatory and actual plants to convey the ‘jungle’ theme, I’ve found that having to adapt the plan has provided me with even more conceptual outcomes.
