This shoot was definitely out of my comfort zone as it was an object led shoot. From my shoot moodboard, I was able to gather solid inspiration and individuals for me to include in my research. This subsequently helped me to find confidence when approaching this shoot. I also found that conducting a test shoot also really helped with my confidence, as I knew already the elements that were perhaps risky, worked.

I did approach the editing of the actual shoot outcomes with the same approach as the test shoot. I did have my suspicions that the level in which I edited the test shots, wouldn’t necessarily work as well because of the delicacy of the flowers I added in, and was right. I still created highly exposed outcomes but some of the levels had to be adjusted from the original test shoot as the colour of the flowers completely took over the whole image when highly exposed.

While I knew this was going to be different to what I’m used to within my photography and styling direction, I’m really happy with what I have created and feel that they’re really conceptual reflections of the song they’re inspired by. It’s also nice to see how these final outcomes reflect a different tone to the test shots just by adding one other component.
