Photography Saturday Club (Photoworks)

How can photography tell us someone’s story through the real and the imagined? 

Aged 13 – 16 and interested in Photography? Come and join our Photography Club. 

This is a completely free programme taking place at the University of Brighton this Spring. No previous experience needed, just an interest in art and photography. All equipment is provided. 

Photography Club will help you develop new technical and creative skills and gain a Bronze Arts Award!   

Explore what it means to be a photographer, with this series of workshops and artist talks led by artist Lindsey Smith.  Hear from two guest artists about their photographic practice and career paths. Explore how to use photography to tell someone’s story, through real and imagined narratives. You will be supported in creating a photographic portfolio and achieving a Bronze Arts Award.  

There are five core sessions, with the final day used to prepare a temporary exhibition of your work to which family and friends will be invited to attend. All sessions take place on Saturdays. 

 Dates: 30 April, 7 May, 14 May, 21 May, 28 May 

Time: 10am – 4pm 

Sharing event with family and friends – Saturday 28 May, 4-5pm
