It is really important that all learners feel safe and supported when undertaking their practice learning. We know that the majority of learners have an excellent experiences in placement but there are some that continue to experience placements where they are not made to feel welcome and face discrimination, bullying or sexual harassment.

Please take a look at the sub-pages related to safe learning environments, where detail is provided about the Safe Learning Environment Charter (SLEC), the Sexual Safety Charter and guidance about how to support students to raise concerns. Please discuss these with your teams to see if there are areas where you could enhance your placements to help prevent negative learner experiences.
