BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science
Our Sport and Exercise Science degree was one of the first in the UK and offers plenty of practical experience in our BASES-accredited labs, working with clients and on placement. Students gain an in-depth understanding of physiology, psychology, anatomy and biomechanics and how to apply it to real-world situations.
The first year consists of six core modules and will give students a thorough introductory grounding, covering aspects of physiology, psychology, anatomy, biomechanics and study skills
In the second year, students will further explore these areas and look at research methods in preparation for their dissertation. Students can choose from a range of optional modules to tailor the course to their interests.
In the final year students will undertake a minimum of 50 hours of placement experience with an organisation of their choice. Placements take place from October -April.
The Sport and Exercise Science degree is endorsed by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) – the UK’s professional body.
