Enhancing your career prospects at the University of Brighton

At the University of Brighton, we’re dedicated to ensuring that you make the most of your time here, empowering you to find or create a career that excites and rewards you.

Studying at Brighton offers an experience that goes way beyond the classroom. From day one we’ll help you build the real-world knowledge and transferable skills that employers look for in graduate recruits. By the time you graduate you’ll feel confident and fully prepared to start your career anywhere in the world.

A career-focused education

  • Learn from industry experts who bring their professional experience into the classroom.
  • Gain teamwork and collaboration skills by working on projects with other like-minded students.
  • Learn how to use specialist equipment such as radio and tv studio kit, a flight simulator, hospital and a real-time trading room.
  • Put your learning into practice, gain work experience and meet new contacts on your job placement. Recent placements include Rolls-Royce, Nike, British Airways and American Express.
  • International students have access to Student Circus, which publishes job listings from employers who will sponsor international students to work in the UK.
  • Create an online portfolio of your university experiences, work and skills to support your CV when you graduate.

International student opportunities through Student Circus

Find verified job listings from employers who will sponsor our international students in the UK with Skilled Worker Visa Opportunities, as well as jobs and Internship opportunities in 30+ home countries that any of our students can apply for.

There are also step-by-step guides to help you plan your professional journey in the global job market and an Immigration Guide which gives expert advice by immigration solicitors about working in the UK.

Comprehensive career support

The Careers and Employability team is here to support you from your first day at the university.

They can help you decide what career is right for you, develop the skills you will need to follow it, and get a job when you finish your studies. They can also offer support and advice about placements, volunteering, mentoring and business startup.

The careers team can help you:

  • find part-time work that you can combine with your studies
  • find or be a mentor or get involved with our peer-to-peer support scheme
  • develop your business ideas through our entrepreneurial support network.
