How it all began

Traveling has always been my passion. As far as I remember from stories my parents told me they started traveling with me when I was only a few month old. My first birthday turning one was celebrated during a vacation in Fehmarn (German island in the Baltic Sea). My parents and I came back nearly every year and when I was old enough to realize how beautiful this place is I felt in love with being on the road and seeing places away from home. My parents showed wonderful places, especially cities to me and I started to be interested in different histories and developments. We have been to Mallorca in Spain twice, we visited several cities in Germany – Hamburg is still my favorite one!

When I was around 16 I wanted more than only visiting German cities. I decided that I want to spend some time in the UK. English has always been my favorite language and subject at school and the more I learned about the country and its culture I wanted to go there. I traveled to Eastbourne with an organization that guides language holidays. I lived in a host family and got to know so much about Eastbourne, Brighton, Hastings and London. I guess this was the time when I realized that I can not live without discovering places and traveling. This was also the moment I found out how much I love the UK and I decided to spend a semester abroad in this country if I would start studying – what I do now in Brighton. I kept my promise!

My first visit to London in 2010.

My wanderlust grew when I did my A-level. At the same time I was trained to become a language assistant and it was an essential part to travel in the countries where the languages we learnt are spoken. We traveled to Barcelona in Spain and Paris in France. These cities are beautiful and I felt home although I have been there only a few days. I feel home quickly even if I am not living there. My passion for traveling grew with every journey I made.

In the last years in have been to several cities in Germany and the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Malta and the UK. I found the perfect partner who is sharing my passion when I met my boyfriend. He loves and enjoys traveling as much as I do. I am so grateful for having him and being able to discover even more places with him. We have already spent five holidays together and many more are planned. When he comes visiting me in April we will spend some days in Southampton and will discover South East England. We will travel to Italy (Gardasee) in September during our summer/autumn holidays.

 Last year in Ancona, Italy.

And as I am in Brighton for a semester abroad, this is the perfect opportunity for me to discover many more places in the UK. Since I am here I already discovered London, some parts of East Sussex (Eastbourne incl. Beachy Head, Alfriston, Battle Abbey and Lewes), I will travel to Bath, Salisbury and Stonehenge next week and the third trip will lead me to Rye and Bodiam Castle. I am also planning to go to Peacehaven, Newhaven, Seaford and Worthing. When interested check my Instagram account for photos about my future travelings and keep yourself updated about the places I discover and share with you! Due to my love for this country I want to discover as many places as possible to widen my horizon, my knowledge about this country and I want to grow with the things I learn, see and discover.
