This is where I will post my development from the making of the website

Starting up this module this week, I was asked to produce my own website. This Is what i’ll be using weekly to document my work thus module. This website will be under the domain of University of Brighton Edublogs website.

To start it up, I had to choose a URL to use. This being link to the website and where people can find me. It is permanent and can’t change so I simply used my name.

I then named my website as “My personal website for digital fabrications” for now and chose to have it as a public website. These are changeable later on, this was just my set up.

Now I have a working website, before I start putting my content in, I needed to chose a theme I like, Well for now…

For now, I choose the theme ‘AwesomePress’. I first chose this as I like how clean it is. I felt I had  more control over it. Due to that clean simple look I had a lot to work with. I was also able to do live previews of what it would look like which was super useful. There is a large customisation area which has loads of options to personalise it.

I was now ready to add my content. Behind the nice looking website is a Dashboard to edit what’s on your website. Here I can access any other websites I have open, I can go back and change the name and theme and see the activity of my website. There is then a long Menu of options to add.

First one being Pages, and allows me to categorise each week that passes and what we do, separately on a menu. The timetable for the module made this easy to fill in. I did this first to build up a structure to go off. Other than them pages, there will be a an easy access home page.

As it was my website and it was out there publicly, I will put an ‘about me’ page in. This is just to introduce me, a bit of information on me and this module.

With using this website to document all my processes over these sections, this is a constant process in itself, ill be updating it over time, adding what I learn to each page
