The aim of this project was learning how to use other CAD software. to start this project we practiced with Fusion 360, it was the example we were given on other software to use. Fusion is a 3D CAD, CAM, and CAE tool which is similar to Solidworks so i believe i will go from one to the another.
Fusion
Easiest way to learn was using the videos linked and others that i found later by browsing the web on for specific things i wanted to find out.

Fusion 360 Tutorial for Absolute Beginners – Part 1 – Part 2 – Part 3
Task 1 for fusion is to create a dice similar to how I started learning SolidWorks. I didn’t spend much time figuring the software out but rafter observed my fellow student and used what was said to be the quickest method to build my first dice as recommended.
After the dice was complete I recreated it a few more times but this time i changed some of the dimensions and also recored the time it took me to complete. I used the same method as my first attempt but adjustments the posting the dots it was simple enough to do i just set the dimensions a little tighter when setting the pattern so they wouldn’t end up so close to the fillet on the fished version.

- 1: 7min 9sec
- 2: 5min 35sec
After the recreation attempts of the dice on fusion i decided to go back to solid works and make the dice there. this is to see if i have improved from my best attempt times when it started to learn the software. this was also a good opportunity to compare my experience between the two softwares.

- present: 5min 58sec
Making the dice again in solid works wasn’t to difficult but i was surprised how much of a difference there was between my past best time and now, i guess that continually working with the software made me efficient with its features.
In order to learn and become accustomed to the software even more I mimicked what I did SolidWorks practice exams. It reassembly easy with both taking similar time’s but I did come to some issues where I couldn’t doing the same way when recreating it in fusion.
Between SolidWorks and fusion, fusion was quicker to use, I really came to appreciate the short cuts and hotbar that fusion had to offer. i revolved most of the features i used around the S menu setting up the tools i knew i would need before making the item. Sketch was relatively similar between both softwares but in fusion i found myself pressing CTRL 8 a great deal trying positon myself on the sketch.
